2023 Skinny Tire Festival in Moab, Utah
A week ago (March 10th-14th) we held our 22nd Skinny Tire Festival in Moab, Utah! This event started 22 years ago when our founder, Mark Griffith, wanted to find a way to deal with his grief after the passing of his brother due to cancer. He put purpose to his cycling and began the Moab Skinny Tire Festival with a few close friends to raise money for cancer survivorship programs.
Donations
We’re proud to report that with the $25 from every registration, as well as additional donations from generous participants, we will be donating over $13,000 to our local cancer treatment center! Words can't express our gratitude for this.
Festival Review
We had a large number of first-time riders, as well as participants who’ve ridden with us 3, 4, 5, and even 13 years in a row! All but 11 states were represented at the event, with ages ranging from 24 to 83 years old. We also noticed a large number of cycling groups who traveled together for the event and took advantage of our Recruit 5, Ride Free Program.
Spring weather always keeps us on our toes in the desert, and this year was no exception! However, the overall feedback was the chilly mornings and short spurts of rain early in the festival added to the adventurous nature of the event! And as you will see in the photos below, it made for some incredible scenery and photo opportunities as the sun made its way out every single day.
A big thank you to our staff, our volunteers, our sponsors, the participants, and everybody involved (including our supportive families!) who help make the Skinny Tire Festival so enjoyable and memorable.
