Moab Century Tour

What happened to “The Big Nasty?”

Due to scheduled road construction and closures on the La Sal Loop road (home of the “Big Nasty” section), the Moab Century Tour has replaced the route with a new route for the 2024 event. As of now, our plan is to return to the La Sal Loop route for 2025, subject to availability.

Single Day or Full Weekend Options Available!

September 21st-22nd, 2024

The Moab Century Tour is a two-day cycling event that covers all of the amazing landscape Moab has to offer! From gaining elevation heading towards the Bull Canyon Overlook, to carving down through our red rock canyons, and finishing along the mighty Colorado River, this event has a landscape worth training for! Both routes offer incredible viewpoints, after unique and challenging climbs.

Join us in September when temperatures cool down, the fall foliage comes alive, and cyclists from across the country unite in red rock country to experience awe-inspiring landscapes.

This two-day event will showcase to riders Moab's full geographical beauty. Saturday we ride as a group to Dead Horse Point State Park, just prior to the entrance to Canyonlands National Park, Island in the Sky District. At the turn-around point of this ride are Grand-Canyon-Worthy views we promise will not disappoint. On day 2, we’ll ride as a group on a new route for 2024, where our destination will be the Bull Canyon Overlook, an amazing destination with incredible views and access to an active dinosaur track site.

From the bike seat, you embrace the landscape, feeling the contours as gravity tugs on your tires, challenging you to climb and daring you to descend. You'll appreciate the grand scale of this place once you've ventured far from town under your own 'skinny' power, and down byways known only to a lucky few.

Route & Ride Descriptions

For all the rides there is SAG vehicle support and Aid Stations equipped with water, real food, cheery volunteers to assist you, and event communication volunteers who help keep all of us communicating!

This out-and-back route is worthy of your cycling resume! We’ll turn onto Castleton Road and slowly build our ascent as we climb through Castle Valley. After a powerful climb, we’ll hit our peak at one of our favorite (and lesser known) vistas, The Bull Canyon Overlook, located on Fisher Mesa. Here you can take in the incredible views and even walk to some real dinosaur tracks, before heading back towards our starting point. This is a truly unique route that will only be available for our 2024 event!

*Options available to shorten or lengthen the route will be provided to registered cyclists two weeks prior to the event. Distance may be slightly larger or shorter depending on where cyclists choose to start and stop.
