March 14th - 17th 2026, we held our 25th Skinny Tire Festival in Moab, Utah! The Aarchway Inn, as always, was an excellent host for our event. This event started 25 years ago when the founder, Mark, wanted to find a way to deal with his grief after the passing of his brother due to cancer. He put purpose to his cycling and began the Moab Skinny Tire Festival with a few close friends to raise money for cancer survivorship programs.

Donations

We’re proud to report that with registration donations and additional donations from generous participants, we donated $7,700 to the Moab Healthcare Foundation Cancer Care Center! We’re happy to donate a portion of every registration and a big thank you to everyone who added additional donations.

Festival Review

We had many first-time riders as well as participants who’ve ridden with us 3, 4, 5, and even 14 years in a row!

We had participants from the United States and Canada. We even had a participant come from the sunny Caribbean!

35 states were represented among the participants.

Our youngest participant was 13.

Our most senior participant was 83!

93% of the cyclists were over 40.

We had a variety of bike types at the event including:

Standard road bikes (with and without electric shift)
Tandem bikes
Electric (class 1) bikes
Recumbent Bikes

62% of the participants were male-identifying with 38% being female-identifying cyclists.

We also noticed many cycling groups who traveled together for the event and took advantage of our Recruit 5, Ride Free Program.

Spring weather always keeps us on our toes in the desert and this year was no exception! However, the overall feedback was the chilly mornings and Sunday’s wind added to the adventurous nature of the event! As you will see in the photos below, it made for some incredible scenery and photo opportunities as the sun made its way out every single day.

A big thank you to our staff, our volunteers, our sponsors, the participants, and everybody involved (including our supportive families!) who help make the Skinny Tire Festival so enjoyable and memorable.
